Upon arrival in Thekkady, we are greeted by the serene ambiance and embark on an exploration of the natural wonders that await us.

Thekkady is renowned for its sprawling Periyar National Park, where nature thrives in its purest form. As the sun sets, we settle into our accommodations, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the region.

An Adventure with Wildlife in Periyar National Park

We got up early to welcome the day’s experiences and headed to Periyar National Park for an exciting wildlife encounter. We start our adventure with an exciting jungle safari, where we walk deep into the forest and search for the variety of species that live in this sanctuary.

As we make our way through thick vegetation, we may be lucky enough to see boars, elephants, deer, and a variety of bird species living in the wild. With each rustle and sound resonating across the forest, the anticipation grows, offering glimpses of elusive creatures.

A peaceful boat trip on Periyar Lake, where we cruise amid the stunning views of the surrounding hills and lush trees, is the high point of our Thekkady adventure. If fortune favors us, we may see creatures slake their thirst on the water’s edge, capping off our Thekkady wildlife experience.

We take comfort in Thekkady’s peace as the day comes to an end and treasure the recollections of our wildlife explorations.

Day 4: Travel to the Backwater Paradise of Kumarakom

The tranquil atmosphere of the backwaters welcomes us at Kumarakom. We take a captivating trip on Vembanad Lake in a traditional houseboat. A tranquil environment is created by the soft lapping of the sea against the boat and the lovely sights of coconut palms and local life along the shoreline.

Savoring traditional Kerala cuisine cooked onboard, we indulge in the flavors of the area while cruising the backwaters in peaceful settings.

We leave the backwater pleasure of Kumarakom and travel scenically to Munnar, a paradise tucked away in the verdant slopes of the Western Ghats.

With its expansive tea farms, misty valleys, and stunning views, Munnar beckons us. We start our exploration with trips to tea farms, where we observe the painstaking process of producing tea and discover the area’s rich history in the tea trade.

The day is filled with trips to Top Station, where the clouds encircle the mountains and provide a strange backdrop for our excursions, and Echo Point, which offers expansive vistas that reverberate with our laughter and the sounds of nature.

When Neelakurinji flowers bloom, which happens once every twelve years, and paints the hillsides in vivid hues, we are treated to a spectacular sight.

We retreat to our Munnar lodgings as the day comes to an end, mesmerized by the alluring beauty all around us.
